How do I close the Windows 8 app?

Windows 8 manages apps in the background. If you do not use the Demand 5 app for some time, it will close by itself.

If you prefer to close the app manually, the following procedure works on Windows 8 and Windows 8.1:

  1. In the Demand 5 app, touch or click the top edge of the screen
  2. Drag vertically to bottom of the screen. You will see the app minimise
  3. Release to close the app

Ending processes

You can also end all processes when you close the app. This may be beneficial if the app has slowed down or crashed:

  1. In the Demand 5 app, touch or click the top edge of the screen
  2. Drag vertically to bottom of the screen. You will see the app minimise
  3. Hold the app at the bottom of the screen for a few seconds until the thumbnail flips over
  4. Release to close the app

Closing apps in Windows 8.1 using a mouse

If you are using a mouse in Windows 8.1, there is an alternative way to close the Demand 5 app:

  1. Move your mouse cursor to the top right-hand side of the screen
  2. Hover the cursor until you see a red ‘X’ button appear
  3. Click the button to close the app
