The Demand 5 app will display an error if you try to playback content without being logged into Xbox Live.

If you see the error message 217 attempting to playback content, please ensure you are both logged into your Xbox profile and connected to Xbox live. 

If this error persists, it's often resolved by shutting down your Xbox fully. Once the Xbox has started up again, ensure you are successfully connected to the internet before attempting to launch the Demand 5 app.

To check your network settings do the following:

1. Scroll left from Home to open the guide.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select All Settings.
4. Select Network.
5. Select Network settings. Any known outages will appear in the middle of the screen.
6. On the right side of the Network settings screen, select Test network connection.
