We show adverts on My5 so that we can provide our shows to you to watch for free.  Unlike the BBC we do not receive an income from the TV Licence fee and we do not charge a subscription like other services such as Sky. 

Our aim is to provide as many people as possible with the best content and viewing experience; the  revenue generated by adverts helps us to achieve this.  This can cover everything from ensuring our services are available on the latest devices, to funding new and exciting shows.

Ad breaks within programmes follow the same pattern as seen on our broadcast channels.
